For the following argument, indicate whether it is valid or invalid, strong or weak?

Social welfare is by definition a hand out to people who have not worked for it. But giving people money that they have not earned through labor is not helping anyone. It follows then that social welfare does not help anyone.

Respuesta :

Answer: it is valid but weak

Explanation:

Social welfare is indeed given to people who have not worked for the money; they have not done any labour for them to receive that money however there is no sufficient evidence above to say that social welfare doesn't help anyone .

This statement also overgeneralize by saying that if a person has not laboured for that money then it will not help them one may argue and ask what about our elder generation who can no longer afford to labour in order to receive salaries.

It is possible that it may not help some people to get money this way it may encourage laziness to search for jobs but it may also be highly possible that most people who are really disadvantaged really depend on this money for every need such as people with disabilities, young opharn who is taking care of their siblings or elders who can no longer work .
