However, I think that extemp is harder because it is on very random topics that you MUST spend time researching and you only have thirty minutes to practically prepare an entire essay. The entire speech has to be around 10 minutes and you must have evidence for everything you say. Even though you have very little prep for IMP you also have VERY little speaking time and you can customize it as you please. The entire event for IMP is only 7 minutes for speaking and writing. Its quite simple if you are good with a time limit.
