Hello there :)

Carbon is the found in all organic compounds.

Hydrolysis is when water is added to a substance and the reaction of this is that the substance and the water molecule spit into 2 and on those that were split gains a hydrogen ion. So this cant be the answer. Metabolism is the breaking down of food to gain energy, the more you have the better. ion formation is where ions are formed, of course , Haha. So we know that this cannot be the answer because ions are formed when atoms loose and gain electrons. The only answer left is dehydration synthesis. This is when  2 molecules are joined together with the removal of water and they create a large molecule, so B definitely the answer.

DNA is a cell that contains genetic information. RNA carries information from DNA and places it into ribosomes (they turn the RNA into protein). They both are made up of nucleotides (a monomer,a molecule that can join a identical molecule and forms a polymer.)

Organic Chemistry is the study of carbon compounds and the study on it relates to our everyday life. The four major compounds that are studied in Organic Chemistry are Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins, and Nucleic acids. Carbohydrates give you body energy. For example things like bread & pasta are examples of carbohydrates (carbs). The basic function of Lipids are to store energy. Proteins have many function inside of the body they allow us to move, transport oxygen , transport things in and out of a cell, and much more. Nucleic acids create genetic information (DNA).

The basic unit of all proteins is called an amino acid. Amino acids are formed together in a chain and this creates a Protein. the chains need bonds that actually bring them together and the chemical bonds that actually form proteins are peptide bonds, ionic bonds, disulfide bonds, and hydrogen bonds.

Nucleic acids are constructed of nucleotides, and the chemical that creates nucleotides is called Phosphate.
