1. Metabolism: All living organism whether be small microscopic or multi-cellular human takes nutrients and process them to release energy.
2. Reproduction: All living organism reproduces sexually or asexually to produce offspring.
3. Response to stimuli: Be it a bacteria or plant or animals all responds to any external stimulus like response to heat, any movement, cold, etc.
4. Growth and development: All living organisms grows and develops into an individual with different characteristics throughout their life cycle.
5. Heredity: it means passing of traits from parent to offspring. Be an organism is producing offspring sexually or asexually some or all traits are passed from parents to offspring.
6. Evolution: Living organism are bound to adapt and evolve according to their environment. It means development of certain characteristics which is unique for a particular organism like bipedal locomotion in human, antibiotic resistance in bacteria.
7. Cellular organisation: Cell is the basic unit which forms a living organism. All living organism be it a single-celled bacteria or a multi-cellular human are composed of cells which is their functional unit of life.
