One teacher said that freemen "will starve themselves in order to sendo their children to school." Write a paragraph explaining why you think education meant so much to the freemen.

So the freemen's children could have a better education than them. With a better education, the children will have better jobs lifestyle and it gives the family name something to be proud of.

i think education meant so much to freemen because they don't want their children to be like them when they were slaves and they couldn't get any education. Also they want to have a good life and not a bad life like they had. Another reason to support my answer is that they might have seen how kids back then grew up so they don't want their child to grow up like the kids back then did. A third reason is that if a person ask them a question they can give a smart answer not a not smart answer. A final reason is that kids are supposed to have all that education needs to go out looking smart and wealthy. therefore that is why education meant so much for Freeman.
