Epigenetics refers to differences between individuals:
a. that are not encoded in DNA seqeunce.
b. that are phenotypic.
c. that are heritable.
d. A and B.
e. All of the above.

Respuesta :

Answer:

E. All of above

Explanation:

Epigenetics refers to the heritable changes that are not regulated by DNA sequences. Epigenetics includes the changes in the expression of genes without any change in its sequence.

For example, inactivation of one X chromosome in the cells of human females by DNA methylation which is then transmitted to the future generations of these cells. Here, a chemical modification of DNA affected the expression of genes and the sequence of DNA is not modified.

Answer:

e. All of the above

Explanation:

Epigenetics refer to the changes that are heritable phenotypically. These changes do not occur in the DNA sequence rather they are the modification over these sequences  by processes such as methylation etc. The chemical compounds which lead to epigenetics are not part of the DNA sequence, but can be over it or attached to DNA ( In Greek "epi" means above). Epigenetic modifications can be inherited through the generations. Environmental factors like exposure to pollutants, diet etc can also impact the epigenome. They can lead to deleterious diseases such as immunity and related disorders, Alzheimer's disease, Rett syndrome etc.
