Importance:
Changes in climate in particular region (due to global warming) can result in a disturbance of the ecosystem and biodiversity of the place. This is because changes in climate affect the plants that grow in the region due to development of new selection pressures. Changes to these organisms at the base of the energy pyramid will also affect the higher organisms including humans. Failure to adapt to these changes could result in negative consequences for a species including extinction. For human is would mainly lead to displacement and migration hence increasing the risk for conflicts between communities. Scientific studies would help in understanding these changes and how to best adapt to them.
