Answer: Toggel the gun's safety on, if it is a rifle hold the weapon up right where the muzzle (end of the barrel) is facing up or towards the sky , if it is a pistol hold it down towards the ground, always keep your finger off the trigger if you have no intent of discharging your firearm, if you have a safe space and an opportunity point you firearm in a safe direction remove you magazine or bullets (for a revolver) and shoot your weapon into the ground to clear the gun of any bullets still left in the chamber, dont give firearms to minors, always lock up your firearms in a safe or have a gun lock and you should be a ok.
I've handled guns all my life and haven't had an accident so these easy and fundamental rules should be followed. Hoped this helped :)
