So a will have two values since it’s going to change into the absolute value
The number inside the absolute value can be 18 or -18
8+a=18 a=10
8+a=-18 a=-26
a= -26 and 10

|5+m|=8
5+m=8 m=3
5+m=-8 m=-13
m= -13 and 3
