[tex]x=y^2+z^2[/tex] is a paraboloid with vertex at (0, 0, 0) opening away from the origin centered on the line [tex]y=z=0[/tex].

When [tex]x=0[/tex], [tex]0=y^2+z^2[/tex] which means [tex]y=z=0[/tex], so that this section is a single point, (0, 0, 0).

When [tex]y=0[/tex], [tex]x=z^2[/tex] which is a parabola in the [tex]x[/tex]-[tex]z[/tex] plane with vertex at (0, 0, 0).

When [tex]z=0[/tex], [tex]x=y^2[/tex] and this section is the same as the previous one, but lying in the the [tex]x[/tex]-[tex]y[/tex].
