Anticlines and synclines are each half of the fold moves away and towards the crest respectively. Since, the processes are entirely different and are not related, this explains that ridges and valleys generally do not correspond to anticline and synclines.

The mountain building serves many purposes for human beings. They provide waterfalls, rainfalls, regulates climate changes, serves as a water source, helps in keeping the fertility of soil in check and maintains it.
