My economics teacher stated that you shouldn't waste money without seeing the mathematical proof that your money will be well spent and establish a return profit. Yet, my informal education leads me to believe that if a family member is in trouble and needs money I help them out regardless of the situation because family is more important than money. Therefore both contradict each other. I believe the best way to solve these types of problems is to decide what is more important to you as a person and act on that.
