The Confederation Period happens right after the American Revolution and before the United States Constitution implementation, that is between the years of 1781 to 1789. The Articles of Confederation was the first constitution of America. One of its main characteristics was that the states remained independent and sovereign having the Congress as a last resort to appeal disputes, it also defined taxation.
