This one's broad, but I'd say it's because of the clashing between New cultures being introduced in America and the post ww1 economy
America of the 1920s is considered a time of culture wars because urban and rural American values came into closer conflict.
How did American culture influence the world in the 1920s?
In the twenties, a whole new generation of people grew up who were not around before world war one and this new generation had its own beliefs and were different from their parents who were traditionalists.
American culture, such as books, movies, and Broadway theater, was now being exported to the rest of the world. World War I had left Europe on the decline and America on the rise. The decade of the 1920s helped to establish America’s position in respect to the rest of the world, through its industry, its inventions, and its creativity.
For many even most people in the United States, the 1920s brought more conflict than celebration. For a small handful of young people in the nation’s big cities, the 1920s were roaring indeed.
