Children and grandchildren of African slaves brought to colonial America were "treated as slaves". Children in colonial America had no preferences or choice. They were what their parents were. Any child born to a slave was also a slave. All African Americans were slaves no matter if they were a baby or a100 years old. Born a slave died a slave.
When the shipment of slaves was outlawed, the plantation owners bought and sold the children and grandchildren way from their parents.
Children as young as 2 years old were sold. They were maltreated. Mothers didn’t got proper medical treatment while pregnant. After birth, children were suffering with malnutrition. Even a young kid, as young as 2 years old, would go to work in the fields.
Such was the condition of children of African Slaves.
