B. F. Skinner happened upon the works of Pavlov while he was working as a clerk at a bookstore.
Up to this point, Skinner had been a writer. He had only written a few newspaper articles, and he lost faith in his literary talent. After discovering to works of Pavlov and Watson, he decided to enter the psychology graduate program at Harvard University.
