[tex]\sqrt{2x+1} =13[/tex]

To get rid of the radical square both sides of the equation:

2x + 1 = 169

Combine like terms by subtracting 1 to both sides

2x + (1 - 1) = 169 - 1

Isolate x by dividing 2 to both sides

2x/2 = 168/2

x = 84

Hope this helped!
