Detail. The sentence is a statement of facts which makes it a detail. In a paper this would be used to help prove a thesis statement. A thesis statement is the essays main idea. It should be a statement that must be proved using details and analysis. A research plan is also not a valid answer because this statement is a piece of research, but it is not the plan for the research.
