Now with the carbon tax firmly in place, a liter costs between 1.15 and a 1.24. That may not sound like much of an increase, but on 50 liters it increases by 12.50 cents. We fill our car once a week. So that means we are spending 50 dollars a month on a tax which is 600 dollars a year.
We are on a fixed income. (Retired). Don't think we don't give that some thought. It certainly does encourage us to cut back on our fuel costs.
Taxation is the kind of expense we all have that we try and avoid if we can. The way to avoid it is to use less of the commodity being taxed.
