A vector can be a human or animal. It is a medium that carries another microorganism in the body and when they come in contact with another organism, that microorganism or the pathogen transfer into another organism.
An example is a mosquito, it carries plasmodium in its saliva, when it bites anyone the plasmodium transfer into the blood of the victim which causes disease.
Thus, a vector is an organism that transports a pathogen.
