For example: the stick insect resembles a twig. Another way prey can protect itself against predators is to mimic a poisonous organism, warning mimicry. For example: the king snake resembles the highly poisonous coral snake in order to ward off predators.

B) Plants can develop thorns or inflict poison on predators. For example: stinging nettles release a mixture of toxins that cause pain when touched.
