Answer:
In 2012, there was a backlash from congressmen Tim Huelskamp and Steve King because the Obama´s administration enacted guidelines for the schools to limit the amount of calories that were provided for each students at lunch. The purpose of this initiative was to prevent students from eating more calories than needed, therefore, decreasing the risk of obecity and associated diseases. Congressman Huelskamp argued that all the kids were hungry because the guidelines minimized the rations so he advocated to return to the previous regulation, which had been on for 15 years.
On the other hand, congressman Steve King co-sponsored the initiative of Hulskamp under the name of "No Hungry Kids Act". According to King, the bill enacted by Obama was denying kids of substance. Also, he said every kid should have the portion they want without limitations from the govermenet.
Government representatives would defend the bill by arguing that every parent and children had the liberty to buy additional rations or other type of food.
