In this instance, do you feel that Tony’s violence toward Wes is excusable?

Do you think Wes’s sister made a good decision by not snitching on Wes for cutting school? Why or why not?

Question 1: I would say that Tony's behavior is excusable in this situation. This is because Tony is trying to keep Wes away from drugs. Tony doesn't want to see Wes get into a situation with drugs.

Question 2: Wes's sister didn't make a good decision by not snitching on Wes for skipping school because that isn't an honest decision.

➷ It isn't necessarily excusable as Tony does do drugs himself. However, it could be thought that Tony isn't directing his anger as Wes but to a younger version himself - trying to stop himself (Wes) from making those mistakes.

2) Not entirely because of course, he still needs to and is supposed to attend school. However, when taking all the events into consideration, it could be deemed acceptable for this occasion. Alternatively, it is still dishonest and therefore, wrong.
