Nearly all species of sea turtles are classified as endangered. But since the Endangered Species Act of 1973 it's gotten better.
They were slaughtered for their eggs, meat, skin and shells. Sea turtles also suffer from poaching and over-exploitation. Along with the destruction of their habitat and accidentally getting caught in fishing gear. If turtles were to ever go extinct, seagrasses would eventually die off and not only would it affect marine life it would eventually affect human life.
