- Established the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, which put more trust into banks during the Great Depression, for it promised to reimburse anyone who loses money via back emergency.
- Established the Civil Conservation Corps which, over 9 years, employed millions of young men to perform manual labor during the Great Depression, a time where work was scarce.
- Unemployment rates reached 25% while he was president. By the end of his presidency, it had gone down to 1.9%
- Established the Social Security Act, which provided welfare to the elderly, poor, and sick.
