If the Sun were to mysteriously turn into a black hole (don't worry . . . it won't!) and retain its current mass, what would happen to Earth? A. Earth would be pulled in within minutes. B. Earth would be pulled in over many years. C. Earth would continue to orbit the Sun as usual. D. Earth would orbit the Sun just outside the event horizon.
If the Sun were to turn into a black hole, or be replaced by a black hole with the same mass as the Sun, then Earth would continue to orbit it as usual. (But it would be very cold and dark around here.)
