before wwii many african countries were ruled by a handful of European nations how did many of the colonies achieve independence in decades following the war

Respuesta :

After the World War II ended, the African countries, one by one, started to gain independence, thus not being colonies of the European countries.

This process was able because of few factors:

- The European colonial nations were economically exhausted after the war, also their countries were in ruins. That meant that they had to focus on rebuilding and development, which in turn meant that they were not able to support the colonialism anymore;

- The international pressure for stopping the colonialism, as well as the independence movements, and movements for human rights, all resulted in mass protests and pressure for granting independence. The African nations indeed did got independence, and it was very positive that the European nations did not tried to stop it and intervene with their military forces, but rather granted the independence.
