- The biome here is the desert. Therefore, these three lizards are adapted to live in the desert consisting of the same climatic conditions irrespective of living in different regions.
- A desert biome consists of high temperature, dry climate and low moisture content. Therefore, these lizards possess specific characteristics and behaviours that allow them to be adapted to the climatic conditions easily.
- For example, all the three lizards in the photos above have adapted different mechanisms like metachromatism (ability to adapt to the temperature by adjusting the body color), thermoregulation (ability to adapt to the environment by adjusting behavioural characteristics), etc.
- Moreover, all the three lizards in the photos have dark colored bodies that resemble the soil to help them in blending and protect them from predators. This adaptive mechanism is called camouflage.
