An archetype is the model on which something is based, but it has also come to mean an example of a personality, particularly a fictional character in a story based using a well-established personality model.
The following are the Traits of the Archetypical hero:
The hero normally has unusual circumstances of birth; sometimes in danger or born into royalty. He Leaves family or land and lives with others A tramatic event which leads to the adventure or quest. Thero has a special weapon only he can use. The hero always has supernatural help. The Hero must prove himself many times while on adventure. And then the hero dies, he is rewarded spiritually.
Having mentioned the former, we can conclude that Arthur is an archetypical hero:
because they show Arthur as a strong warrior who is destined to die in battle.
