noun and verb
Style is a thing when used as a noun. For example: The house was decorated in the style of Egyptian queens. His style was so outdated, he was wearing his grandfather's clothes. Many times style can be found as an object of a preposition "in style", "out of style" - these are always nouns.
Style can also be something you do, an action verb. The hairdresser styled her hair around the tiara.
According to the dictionary, style can only be used as a noun or a verb. This is true if it is by itself. But we should also note here that it can be used as a compound adjective as well. For example: The house had a cowboy-style decor that gave it a rustic Western feel. "Cowboy-style" is a compound adjective describing the type of decor.
