Y: Well, I wanted to speak with you about possibly reducing the amount of homework that we get in school.
P: Interesting. How would you plan to do that? Why should students receive less homework?
Y: I've seen the amounts of homework that we get and it honestly frustrates me. I'm not the only one who feels this way either. Many of my classmates have complained about not getting enough sleep or not getting enough time to play outside or hang out with friends. Homework doesn't really have much value.
P: Interesting. What would you propose we do to change homework?
Y: Well, for starters, I would reduce the amount. The amount of homework that we get amounts to at least a job shift! Second, make homework engaging! Many people love to add their own stamps to things. Creativity should be exercised. I feel that instead of boring worksheets, we should do more discussion-oriented and let us talk about what we learned in the lesson. Not only does that lessen the amount of homework, it helps us maintain the information while also hearing the other student's perspectives!
