Taxation of The First State.

Turgot was a French minister and physiocrat from 1761 to 1774 whose main ambition was to restore the state's finance by adopting a new economic freedom. He was the one who gave new hope for a country struggling economically and warned King Louis XVI that taxes and government spending would cost him his reign. At that time, first and second class nobles were exempt from paying most taxes. Taxation of The First Sate was one of the economic plans Turgot had proposed but was rejected. Some people believe that the French Revolution could have been avoided if he had not been dismissed by the government of Louis XVI.
