Why does the Nile River not flood the cities of modern day Egypt?


a) Because it stopped flooding over a thousand years ago
b) Because of the Aswan Dam
c) Because the river dried up around one hundred years ago
d) Because the cities are built on high ground and the building are on stilts
e) It still floods many cities every year

You should not trust my answer, but I believe that it is E. I am about 60% positive that during the wet season, the Nile river floods over, but also makes the soil near the riverbank richer and more full of nutrients. Still, even if this makes sense, don't trust my answer. Please.
