WWI , Première Guerre Mondiale , appelée aussi "La Grande Guerre" a commecé le 1er juillet 1914 et s'est terminée le 11 novembre 1918
28 July 1914 --> 11 November 1918
The armistice on Novemner 11th was signed between Germany and the opponents. It is still commemorated every year in France.
It was meant to end the fighting on air, land, and sea.
But the "The Treaty of Versailles' (Le traité de Versailles") was only signed on June 28th 1919, took effect on January 10th, 1920.
Anyway the WWI is called "La guerre de 14-18"
