One of the perceived problems with the Articles of Confederation was the weakness of the government to enforce its will on the thirteen separate states; interestingly enough, in modern times, the federal government comes under fire for having too much power. Would the Articles of Confederation have had more success as a charter in modern America or was it so fundamentally flawed that it would never have worked?
