[tex]S\frac{O}{H}C\frac{A}{H}T\frac{O}{A}[/tex]   or   [tex]Sin\frac{Opposite}{Hypotenuse} Cos\frac{Adjacent}{Hypotenuse} Tan\frac{Opposite}{Adjacent}[/tex]

The hypotenuse is the longest side of the triangle. The opposite is the side that is across from a point/angle. The adjacent is the side next to a point/angle.

At ∅ (pretend that's theta LOL), 17 is the hypotenuse, 8 is the opposite side, and 15 is the adjacent side.

So:

sin ∅ = Opposite/Hypotenuse

sin ∅ = [tex]\frac{8}{17}[/tex]

cos ∅ = Adjacent/Hypotenuse

cos ∅ = [tex]\frac{15}{17}[/tex]

tan ∅ = Opposite/Adjacent

tan ∅ = [tex]\frac{8}{15}[/tex]
