Taking the plus or minus sqrt gets us
$x - 5 = 3$
There is no ± on the brainly formulae thing so just know the 3 is really ±3. Then adding 5
$x = 3 + 5$
So the two solutions are -3 + 5 and 3 + 5, or 2 and 8.
