Achilles Painter is the known author of this vase, who was named after a vase painting of Achilles displayed in the Vatican. This vase is dated on 450-440 BC painted over a white ground of 37cm. The scene is a woman and her maid. The woman has a brown cloak over a yellow tunic, directing the maid carrying a grey casket. Anatomy is simple, elegant with no sense of volume. The painter used slip to outline figures.
