East Africa is home to the Nile River which provided fertile land and rich soil, transportation, and irrigation to the people that lived in its reach. Much of Ancient East African history was centered around the Nile River.
Kingdoms such as Kush/Nubia (iron and gold exporter) and Axum (a large center of trade between Central Africa, Asia, Persia, and Egypt) populated East Africa. Axum had a written language, used mountains for terraced farming and irrigation, and minted coins. Kush/Nubia was famous for its vast riches and mineral resources that developed strong weapons and other tools.
East African weather climate could be described as hot and dry.
