The journey that a molecule of water at the Tennessee rivers source takes to reach Memphis begins when the molecule of water comes from the Tennessee River, specifically from one of the two rivers that form it. Those rivers are the Holston River and the French Broad River, in Knoxville. That molecule of water continues through the southwest until Chattanooga, and then, through Alabama. Right there in North Alabama, crosses a couple of cities –Decatur and Florence- and enters Mississippi, specifically by Pickwick Lake.  Then, it returns to Middle and the West of Tennessee, reaching the Kentucky Lake.
