The immune system will destroy the body cells if it doesn't differentiate between pathogens in body cells.

The body is being protected by the cells of the immune system from disease causing infectious microorganisms (pathogens).

These immune cells have the ability to recognise and differentiate between the body cells and the pathogens through antigen recognition processes.

The pathogens have proteins on the surface of their cells called antigens while the human body cells contain proteins on the surface of their cells called Human Leukocyte Antigens (HLA).

Due to some disorders causes the immune system to start recognizing the human cells as pathogens.

Thus will abruptly lead to destruction of the human cells together with the pathogenic cells.
