2. No the rate of the popping is not always the same , the Corn pops at different rates depending on the amount of heat conducted into the popcorn itself . If you were to conduct an experiment and put 2 different bags in 2 separate microwaves , they’d sound and pop all over the place and in different rates. The more heat , the faster the popcorn pops !

As the corn kernels inside the microwave starts heating up the hull will start breaking up after the pressure and heat gets to a particular level inside the microwave.
The breaking up of the corn kernel comes with a special popping sound. also the longer the microwave is on there will be a continuous increase in temperature and the rate at which the corn kernel breaks will also increase.
Hence we can conclude that When the popcorn is put into the microwave the sound it makes is A popping sound , The rate of popping is not always the same when you turn the microwave on for two(2) minutes .
