One of the greatest of the early masters of the intaglio process was the artist Albrecht Dürer.
Albrecht (21 May 1471 - 6 April 1528) was a famous German artist of the Renaissance period who made a big impact in the medium of printmaking.
He used the intaglio printing to make his art, a technique that uses the processes of engraving, filling with ink and printing an image. It's the opposite of a relief print.
Moreover, thanks to this technique, Dürer had a good reputation all across Europe due to his particular woodcut prints and communicated with important artists of that time, such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Raphael, and Bellini among others.
