The percentage profit made by the company rounded to 1 decimal place is 65.4%

  • Total number of pins made = 1000

  • Amount made for charity = 35% × 1000 = 350

  • Total amount sold = 1000 - 350 = 650 pins

Amount of pins sold at £3.00 :

  • 60% × 650 = 390 pins
  • Total amount made = 390 × £3 = £1170

Amount of pins sold at £2.50 :

  • 40% × 650 = 260 pins
  • Total amount made = 260 × £2.50= £650

Total amount made = £1170 + £650 = £1820

Total production cost :

  • 1000 × £1.10 = £1100

Total profit made :

  • £1820 - £1100 = £720

Percentage profit :

(Total profit ÷ production cost) × 100%

(£720 ÷ £1100) × 100% = 0.6545%

The percentage profit made is 65.5%
