Find the slope and the y-intercept of the equation 4x + 5y = -9.

4x + 5y = -9

5y = - 4x - 9

 y = -4/5 x - 9/5

As you know y = mx + b where m = slope and b = y intercept

In this case, slope = -4/5 and y-intercept = -9/5
