At the beginning of the play, Ophelia is dutiful and polite; she does exactly what her family tells her to do. Then, Hamlet's erratic behavior and Polonius's death cause Ophelia to go mad. She becomes confused and starts behaving strangely. Ultimately, her madness leads to her death.

It can be noted that at ten beginning of the play, Ophelia was polite and had good behavior but at the end of the play, she had erratic behavior.

It should be noted that the character in a literary work is vital in conveying the theme that's in the message. From the story, at the beginning of the play, Ophelia is dutiful and polite and she does whatever she was told as she was obedient.
