Explain the circumstances that led to the Arts and Crafts movement

Artists started to realize that things were starting to look the same due to them being created via a repeatable  or automated processes. They didn't like that so started putting effort toward building things through custom designs or using unique materials from local areas.

The Arts and crafts movement is originated in England in the mid of 19th century as an anti ode to the  Dehumanizing effect of the industrial revolution.

The circumstances of the Arts and Craft Movement?

  • De-industrialization of production mechanism -: De-industrialist of production mechanism refers that the method of production now moving on more advanced technique with low cost and minimum labor of supply.

  • Aims  Aesthetics and ideals were united by a common set of aesthetics, that sought to reassert the importance of design and craftsmanship in all the arts in the face of increasing industrialization.

  • The movement represents in some sense a revolt against new mechanical conventional life and its insensitivity to beauty.

The core of the arts and crafts movement is a belief in craftsmanship which focuses on the internal beauty of the material and, the importance of nature as motivation for the value of simplicity, utility, and beauty of arts and crafts.      

It advocates truth to materials, original craftsmanship, and economic reforms in this arts and crafts world.
