The apples cost $0.6 and the pear cost $0.45

let

the price of each apple = x

the price of each pears = y

Therefore,

3x + 2y = 2.70

3x = 4y

From equation(ii)

y = 3x / 4

Insert the value of y in equation(i)

Therefore,

3x + 2(3x / 4) = 2.70

3x + 6x / 4 = 2.70

3x + 3 / 2 x = 2.70

4.5x = 2.70

divide both sides by 4.50

x = 2.70 / 4.50

x = $ 0.6

y = 3 / 4 × 0.6 = 1.8 / 4 = 0.45

y = $0.45
