What does it mean to have cohesion and coherence in the writing of a text? It means that in the writing of a text, we must have a method, (and the word method comes from the Greek, meta -odós, which means: to have a way). In order to have your writing, we must anticipate the material from which we will begin to write, since it is not possible to sit down to write a school text (be it of secondary education, university, post-university, doctoral, etc.) without having the necessary bibliography to carry out the research that will serve as an argument and basis, of an ideal, conjectural and theoretical framework of the texts that we are going to elaborate.
Cohesion consists, then, in the theoretical-argumentative and scriptural unity that makes this writing a consistent and solid writing whose ideas and foundations are coherent in ideas, form, style and content. Here we see that the concept of coherence comes into play, precisely because cohesion has its place in the hand of coherence, which is given as a pin, as a sine qua non condition of a text whose purpose is to be scientific. Cohesion and coherence, finally, are mutually implied.
