Ask a question. I hope this helped.

The answer is Making a hypothesis.

Before you actually start the investagation, it's important to make a hypothesis. Which is the step before conducting a scientific investigation, and is important to do.

Here are the step's you take before doing an investigation:

1) Make an observation. Look at the setup you have, identify what you needed done.

2) Ask a question. Then ask a question. For example: "What would happen if I added baking soda to viniger".

3) Make a hypothesis. Then you make an educated guess. For example: "I think if I add baking soda and viniger togther it will fizz"

4) Do the investigation. Next you do the investigation.

5) Analyzing the data and draw conclusions. Lastly, you are finished and you are able to discribe what happened, and why it happened.
